The new session started with the return of a popular demonstrator, Mrs. Marie Rutherford from Newcastle. Her title was ‘Travel Memories’.
The demonstration began with a 3 placement stacked, horizontal design using yellow carnations, roses and lilies.
Next Marie used a tall container on which she executed a Hogarth curve using palms, orange lilies and leucadendron to give a middle Eastern feel.
Our next stop was Italy and for this she used a tall square container with pink nerines providing the central point and pink gerberas and roses forming the base.
From Italy we were whisked to Thailand with a 2 placement design featuring bamboo ladder back grounds, foliage included ivy, fatsias and cut palms while green chrysanthemums, deep pink carnations and anthuriums gave an oriental splash of colour.
Our final destination was Chicago, with a 2 placement arrangement in bold bright colours of orange lilies, red carnations and red gerberas in a pedestal style.
Gill Garrow thanked Marie on behalf of the ladies.
