A Floral Journey with Audrey Buchan
Tuesday 11th April 2017
The inspiration for the demonstration came from Audrey’s trip to the world show in Dublin. The first design was in a pink carrier bag because before one goes on holiday you have to shop! The compact design incorporated a variety of short foliage with pink bouvardia, pink roses, lime green spray chrysanthemums with 2 tone eustoma and carnations.
Next Audrey used a low container covered with rolled bark. The foliage used was skimmia, helleborusleaves, choisya, to which she added blue clematis yellow roses and orange ranunculus.
The third presentation was in lime green to represent Ireland using manipulated phormium leaves with aspidistra lime green chrysanthemums carnations and anthuriums. A trug styled basket was the base for a design using palm leaves and monster with pink anthuriums red roses and two tone gerberas.
The final arrangement was a pedestal style in a tall glass vase in which were placed and outline of ruscus and palm leaves with manipulated aspidistra to which were added cream eustoma, pink roses, scabiosa, cream lilies and pink tinged anthuriums forming a beautiful display.
The vote of thanks was given by Muriel Gerrard.
